Breakspear Rd South – Road Closure
From 5 to 27 April 2025, HS2 will be carrying out works on Breakspear Road South, under a full 24-hour road closure north and south of the Network Rail bridge. Following its very successful Christmas Celebration Harrow Choral Society is working towards its Spring Concert when the 90-strong choir will perform sacred music for Easter by Romantic composers of the late nineteenth century. John Stainer’s Crucifixion is a musical narration of the Passion of Christ, first performed in 1887 in St Marylebone Church in London. The Friends of Eastcote House gardens are holding their first sale of the year, with plants and books on sale at the gardeners compound and crafts and publications on sale in the Stables building. Also the historic dovecote will be open to visitors.

Between 17 February and 17 March, the manufacturer of welded parts of the new Harvil Road Bridge, carried out some planned surveys. They now require additional time to continue the activity on the bridge. To ensure the safety of both the operatives and rail users, the work will take place when no trains are operating on the Chiltern Line. Wartime Eastcote, 80 years after VE Day
The Friends of Eastcote House Gardens will host an exhibition by the Ruislip, Northwood and Eastcote local history society to celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day. The Royal British Legion, Eastcote branch will have a stand and local history publications and second hand books on WW1 and WW2 will be on sale.
