Pinner Chalk Mines Public Display

Open and Accessible to all (over 16yrs), our renowned public exhibitions start a new chapter this month at Eastcote House Gardens Stable Block. Across the summer, three geological displays will be held on occasional Thursday afternoons.
Come and find out about Pinner Chalk Mines. Special guest, Don Chisholm, will be telling us what he has uncovered about this unique aspect of local history. He has photos going back to the 1980s, when the historic tunnels were re-opened and studied. Meet members of Harrow & Hillingdon Geological Society, see their chalk displays including local fossils; you will be able to handle rocks such as puddingstone, which played an important part in keeping Pinner’s miners safe.
