Affinity Water urges customers to get in touch for help with bills
Affinity Water has a range of measures in place to help customers who may be struggling to pay their bill?
They are currently running a campaign to urge customers to get in touch to see how they can support them.
Households on low incomes or who receive certain benefits or have a medical condition that require the extra use of water may be eligible for a range of different tariffs that we have in place to support those most in need.
Anyone who has been affected financially by coronavirus may also be eligible for payment breaks, different tariffs or spreading the cost of their bill.
We know this has been a very challenging time for many of our customers and we want to let them know that we are here to help.
We want to make it easy for everyone affected to get the support they need as quickly as possible and we are asking your help to get the message out to the people you represent.
We are urging customers who have been affected financially by Covid-19 or are struggling to pay their bill to visit www.affinitywater.co.uk/help

Remembrance Sunday & Armistice Day Commemoration 2020
Covid regulations prevented the traditional Eastcote Remembrance Sunday Parade and Service to be held this year. A Remembrance Sunday Service was video streamed from St Lawrence Church.
Last minute changes to the Covid regulations concerning outdoor public gatherings allowed a short socially distanced Armistice Day Commemorative Ceremony, organised by the Eastcote Branch of The Royal British Legion, to be held at Eastcote War Memorial, Field End Road at 11.00 am on 11th November.
The Ceremony was led by Mrs Catherine Dann, Branch President. The traditional Last Post, Two Minute Silence and Reveille was sounded by Mr Christopher White. The blessing was given by Fr John Seymour. Wreaths and other Remembrance items were laid by individuals and representatives of local organisations. Mr David Simmonds MP and other local dignitaries attended.
The Chair of ERA laid a wreath on behalf of Eastcote residents on Saturday 7th November.
Poppy Appeal and Remembrance events
The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal is running differently this year due to Covid safe guarding regulations.
Poppies can be obtained and donations made at:

- Authorised Collectors will be at Eastcote / Ruislip Manor / South Ruislip / Pinner station at various times (26 Oct – 07 Nov).
The London Borough of Hillingdon (LBH) has arranged for Remembrance Maroons to be launched from 11 sites across the borough at 11am on the 11th November. https://www.hillingdon.gov.uk/remembrance
Residents are asked to commemorate from the safety of their own homes and strongly advised that any visits to memorials are made at times other than Remembrance Sunday or Armistice Day.

The Eastcote Branch of the Royal British Legion laid an RAF Roundel Wreath at Eastcote War Memorial to remember all who gave their everything for our today.

London School of Economics survey on housing density
We have been asked by at team at the LSE for their support with a survey (this was also featured on our website last month):
It is hard to find land in London to build on. One suggestion is to increase density – to allow more to be built on a piece of land. To this end, my colleagues and I at the London School of Economics have put together a survey to better understand what Outer London residents think about this.

The survey can be accessed by clicking on the link and then, after having read the instructions, by clicking ‘Continue’. It consists of two parts. The first is a short questionnaire and the second contains a series of images for the participant to respond to. It should take about 4-6 minutes to complete. More detailed information, including a consent form, can be found on the survey’s introduction page. Participants are encouraged to complete the survey by 14 June. Responses will be anonymous.
