    Harrow Choral Society’s Start of Season workshop

    Harrow Choral Society is inviting singers to its Start of Season workshop, directed by Sam Evans, at 11-4 on Saturday 6th September at St. Albans Church Hall, North Harrow HA2 7PF. All singers are welcome, and music will be provided.
    We will rehearse Joanna Forbes L’Estrange’s A Season to Sing, a choral arrangement of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, written with financial support from 55 choirs around the world. This first rehearsal will lead to our performance on Saturday 11th October at 5.30pm, also at St Albans Church.

  • Eastcote Horticultural Society Autumn Show

    Eastcote Horticultural Society Autumn Show

    A family event where you can drop in and see the exhibits displayed by our local members. These include flowers, fruit and vegetables they have grown, baking, handicrafts, photography and entries from children.

    There is the opportunity to enjoy tea with homemade cake and visit the plant stall. The Show closes with the presentations by 4.30 pm.

    We will be holding our Annual Heritage Day and Classic Car Show at Eastcote House Gardens.
    Also there will be sales of plants, crafts, publications and second hand books and a dog show.

    Ruislip Northwood History SocietyFor the first meeting of our Autumn season of lectures we are very pleased to welcome John Schofield, who was a senior archaeologist at Museum of London, to talk about “London’s Waterfront 1666 to 1800 and London’s involvement in Slavery”. John will tell us about the series of archaeological excavations in the waterfront of the City of London that he led between 1974 and 1983 and what these reveal about life in the port of London during this period when the city became the hub of the new British Empire.
