DESCRIPTION:IN A CHANGE TO OUR PREVIOUSLY ADVERTISED PROGRAMME we are very pleased to welcome Thamar MacIver from the Pinner Local History Society to speak at our October meeting.\nThamar will tell us about the Pinner people who funded and ran a hospital for wounded soldiers during the First World War. She will discuss the organisation required to provide the administration\, nursing and domestic support. These tasks were almost exclusively carried out by local women volunteers who were often from affluent households\, while supplies were often provided by Pinner tradespeople.\nVisitors are welcome (£3 donation).
