SUMMARY:Eastcote and Ruislip Choral Society Christmas Concert
DESCRIPTION:Our Christmas Concert is at Ickenham United Reformed Church\, Swakeleys Road Ickenham\, Middlesex UB10 8BE. \nWe will be singing Geoffrey Bush’s “Christmas Cantata”\, and there will be carols for choir and audience. Tea will follow in the church hall. \nTickets: £15\, under 12s free\, from a choir member or on the door\, (where only cash can be taken). \nWe welcome new members. We rehearse on Tuesdays at 8.00 pm in Ruislip Methodist Church Hall\, Ickenham Road\, Ruislip. Go to our website for more details and to contact us. \nOur Summer concert was a blast! We sang a very challenging work: Will Todd’s “Mass in Blue” but we pulled it off\, thanks to hard work by choir members\, a brilliant soprano soloist and a great jazz combo who pulled it all together. SUMMARY:Harrow Choral Society's Christmas Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Harrow Choral Society is preparing for its Christmas Celebration Concert in the historic Speech Room of Harrow School when it will welcome actor Simon Williams as guest reader. The choir will perform both new and traditional Christmas music interspersed with carols for audience and seasonal readings by Simon Williams.\nSimon Williams\, an Old Harrovian himself\, has enjoyed a long and distinguished career on the stage\, in film and on TV. He is perhaps best known for his role as Captain James Bellamy in the period drama\, Upstairs\, Downstairs but will also be familiar to radio listeners as Justin Elliot in BBC Radio 4’s The Archers. Alongside his busy acting career\, Simon has also written novels and plays.\nThe choir will be conducted by Music Director Sam Evans\, accompanied by composer and arranger\, Paul Ayres\, and brass quintet\, Byron Brass.\nTickets are £25 and £2 for under-18s and can be obtained via the choir website at www.harrowchoral.org.uk by email at boxoffice@harrowchoral.org.uk or by telephone on  07794 253463
