DESCRIPTION:Join our leisure ride ‘Tour de Hillingdon’ – Family Friendly led-ride around the highlights of Hillingdon.  London Cycling Festival means wherever you are in London\, even if you don’t normally cycle in your area\, you and your family and friends will be able to get out on a cycle ride and enjoy the freedom cycling brings with other locals. \nHere in Hillingdon we will be hosting the “Tour de Hillingdon” a leisure ride that is a 30 km loop of the borough starting from and ending at Manor Farm Ruislip. At a leisurely pace the route should be complete in no more than 3 hours including short breaks throughout the route. We will pass through or near a variety of local highlights including: \nSwakeleys Park\nThe Battle of Britain Bunker\nBrunel University\nLittle Britain Lake\nStockley Country Park\nBarra Hall Park\nThe Polish War Memorial\nHighgrove Woods\nIf you don’t feel confident in completing the full circuit\, why not ride the first few kilometres? Or as the ride is in sections if you prefer you can join us at a different starting point and cycle a single section only. \nTimings are as follows\, but will inevitably vary slightly on the day\, according to the ages and abilities of participants. \n10:00 Manor Farm\, Ruislip\n10:45 Dowding Park\, Uxbridge\n11:05 Packet Boat Lane\, Cowley\n11:20 Stockley Country Park\, West Drayton\n11:45 Barra Hall Bandstand\, Hayes\n12:25 Polish War Memorial\, South Ruislip\n13:00 Manor Farm\, Ruislip\n( You can check out the entire route here – https://www.komoot.com/tour/1850762946 ) \nNote this is a family friendly ride\, but given the distances\, might not be suitable for younger children. The route includes some gravel paths and bridleways which can get muddy so bear that in mind also. \nThe London Borough of Hillingdon will be on site at Manor Farm from 9.30 with Dr Bike – the free bike maintenance gurus offering their services to anyone who shows up\, whether participating in the ride or not. \nThe ride will be officially started by the Mayor of Hillingdon Council\, Councillor Philip Corthorne at 10:00AM. \nWe’d love to see you the event!
